When is the best time to visit in Tibet?
We recommend our clients to visit in-between June and October that the weather is warm and all kinds of lifestyles of nomads and farmers could be seen. In many places organizes summer feasts and could be many traditional games including horse racing.
Do we have to make a reservation for a trip?
Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and they allow us to notify you if there were any changes to the tour due to weather or any other obstacles.
How long do we need to make reservation before departure?
For a general tour, a minimum of 30 days ahead of your planned departure is needed to determine and reserve. We strongly recommend of booking as early as possible especiallytours in high-season. It will help us to arrange and reserve hotels, vehicle and guide.
What is the average altitude and will we face altitude sickness in Tibet?
The average altitude of Tibetan places is 3500m high above sea level therefore it is important to take precautions before arriving in Tibet as well as on the rest of trip. When entering the Tibetan Plateau, participants may feel altitude symptoms including headaches, nausea, and lack of appetite. This may last for a few hours to a couple of days depending on the individual.
What shall we do when we face altitude sickness?
Please keep in mind the following tips when you face altitude sickness:
- Drink plenty of water.
- You may lose your appetite, but force yourself to eat as much as you can.
- Symptoms should disappear or weaken within a couple days. If they get worse quickly, or do not go away, tell your guide. If necessary you can go to a lower place to acclimatize and then start going to a higher place gradually.
What do I need to bring?
